Lobuche peak climbing offers you some spectacular sceneries of a range of mountain peaks and wild adventures in the Everest region. Generally, there are two Lobuche peaks: Lobuche west peak and Lobucheeast peak ClimbingLobuche East Peak has an altitude of 6119 m and is situated in the Everest region. Though there are two ridges of this Lobuche Peak, now we are going to enjoy the amazing experience of Lobuche East Peak. The first summit attempt to Lobuche East Peak was made by Laurance Nielson and Sherpa Ang Ganzlen on April 25, 1984. Not only you will enjoy the summit of Lobuche Peak but also you will explore the breathtaking views of Mt. Everest (8848 m), Nuptse (7855 m), Lhotse (8516 m), and many more peaks.

The trek to Lobuche east climbing begins with scenic flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. Then after we will walk through Phakding and reach Namche Bazaar. From Namche Bazaar our trek continues following the trails through Tengboche and Dingboche to Lobuche. During the walk through the trail you will get ample opportunity to experience the beautiful villages with local people mainly Sherpa and you can also explore their unique life style. Likewise beautiful rhododendron forests will gives us company during the walk. You will enjoy even more when you get chance to explore the monasteries and chortens. Numerous species of flora and fauna can be experienced as well.

Lobuche Peak Detailed Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)

After arrival of your in Tribhuwan International Airport, our staff from Ice Break Adventure will be there to pick you up. After completing certain formalities you will be taken to hotel that you booked for your overnight stay.

Day 02: Kathmandu (1300m/4264ft): trip preparation

Today is your second day of the trip and you will have some trip preparation before you real journey begins. You will be visiting our office today for the info about the trekking. Trek leaders will give you some advice about the trekking equipment in order to make your trip worthy one. You will be informed about the expectation throughout the trip. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2,800m/9,184ft) then trek to Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft): 40 min flight, 3-4 hours trek

After having early breakfast we will head towards airport to catch domestic flight. We will have scenic fly up to Lukla which is bounded by beautiful Himalayan peaks and green hills. After landing in Lukla we will meet our team members and have lunch. Then after we will be walking towards Phakding. Our trail goes through the beautiful forests. Overnight stay at Phakding.

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft): 5-6 hours

Today again after having early breakfast our trek begins. The beautiful forest of pine will welcome us along with the Dudhkoshi River. Mt. Thamserku (6608 m) can be seen during our trail as well as we can also witness beautiful fir and juniper forests. We will be surpassing the Sagarmatha National Park today which is the main way to head Mt. Everest. Before we enter to Namche Bazaar we will be crossing through the Hillary suspension bridge.  Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.

Day 05: Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,283 ft): Acclimatization

Acclimatization day is set for preparing our self before having a long walk. We are advised to be active and to move around during the rest day. For best acclimatization we can roam around the Namche Bazaar which is beautiful village. We can experience the life style of local people as well. If you want then you can walk up to the Everest View hotel to enjoy the stunning views of Everest. While returning from Everest view hotel if you want you can also visit the local museum as well. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.

Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft): 5- 6 hours

From Namche we will move ahead towards Tengboche. From Namche to Phunki, trail is not that much troublesome. But from Phunki we have to climb up to Tengboche. Tengboche is famous for largest monastery named Tengboche Monastery in Everest Region. From Tengboche you can witness the mind blowing views of highest peak like Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and other peaks. Overnight stay at Tengboche.

Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300 ft): 5-6 hours

Dingboche will be our next stop today. We will begin our walk after having breakfast. After that we will once again visit to Tengboche Monastery in the morning and move ahead. We will explore stunning landscape. Then we continue our walk through the lush forest of birch, conifers and colorful rhododendron. Then after we will be almost close to Pangboche from where even more views can be seen. We can also visit Pangboche Monastery. Then we will forward through the Imja valley and climb up to the Dingboche. Overnight stay at Dingboche.

Day 08: Dingboche: Acclimatization

This day is set for acclimatization. We will be walking to Chhukung after having breakfast through the trail of stone walled fields, Imja Khola valley before walking in glacier moraine. During the walk we will be companied by the views of Lhotse and Ama Dablam. We will reach to Bibre Village then after our trail is intersected by icy streams. After an hour from Bibre we will be in Chuukung. In Chhuking if your equipment is missing then you can buy from here. You can recheck your tools and can hire from Chhukung. Descend back to Dingboche to stay overnight.

Day 09: Dingboche to Lobuche (4940 m/16,207 ft): 5-6 hours

From Dingboche we begin our trail climbing to Duglha at the end of moraine of Khumbu Glacier. The trail from glacier is steep up to Chupki Lhara, where there are prayer stones kept in the memory of Scottish Fischer (American Mountaineer) and 10 time Everest summitter Babu Chiri Sherpa who lost their lives while climbing Mt. Everest. Trail continues through Khumbu Glacier moraine enjoying the view of Khumbutse, Pumori and other ranges. When the trail come closer to Lobuche we will have an easy walk. Overnight stay at Lobuche.

Day 10: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,170 m/16,961ft), visit Everest Base Camp (5,364 m/17,594 ft): 6-7 hours

Today we will be visiting to Everest Base Camp while heading to Gorak shep. Our trail goes through the Indian Army Mountaineer’s memorial. From here you have to follow the path of your leader as the path is a bit misleading. We will walk through the rocky dunes, moraines and streams before we arrive at Everest Base Camp. Many mountaineers can be seen around tenting. We can see amazing views of Pumori, Nuptse and Everest from the base camp. Overnight stay at Gorak Shep.

Day 11: Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5545m/18,192ft] and back to Lobuche (4940m/16,207ft): 7-8 hours

From Gorak shep we will be moving to Kala Patthar early in the morning. The weather will be very cold and there will be the chilly wind as well. During the walk we can enjoy the splendid views of Lingtren, Khumbutse and Changtse. After reaching to Kala Patthar, you can have close up view of 360 degree of Mt. Everest which is Phenomenal. After snaping some pictures we will return back to Lobuche to stay overnight.

Day 12: Lobuche to High Camp (5,400m/17,712ft): 3-4 hours

Today we will be walking to High Camp of Lobuche. The trail is relatively flatter plane, the path to the Base camp is steep and rocky. From Lobuche glacier you can see the great views Ama Dablam, Cholatse, Pokalde, Thamserku, Kantega and other peaks. After reaching to the high camp we have to set a camp where we will be staying night. After setting the camp we will have pre training before climbing the peak. Our trek leader will gives us information about how to use gears and equipment. Pre training will give you more confidence and can get you more skills on using the gears.

Day 13: Lobuche High Camp to Summit (6119m/20,070 ft) and back to High Camp: 8-10 hours

Today is the most important day of our journey till now. We will wake up early in the morning around 1 am then we take breakfast. The reason behind early move is that, during the noon strong wind may occur and can hinder our trip so we move early. Our trail is almost all made of Ice up to the summit. You have to follow the trek leader whenever he suggest you to use your gears. After reaching to the top of the Lobuche east you will be offered a magnificent views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Cholatse, Pumori and many more Himalayans. We snap some picture to save the memory and we will descend down to the high camp again to spend the night,

Day 14: Contingency/reserve day

This day as a reserve day is set in case if there we’ll be any hindrance due to the weather issue. If our trip goes smoothly then this day is not required.

Day 15: Lobuche High Camp to Pangboche (3930m /12900 ft): 8-9 hours

Today from Lobuche High camp we will descend down to Pangboche. Everest Base camp will be again in our route. After that we have lunch at Lobuche and again begin our Journey. Our trail continues through the Pheriche from where we can see the great vies of Ama Dablam from Distance. The splendid views of colorful rhododendron forest on the hill side will gives us company during the walk. After reaching Pangboche if you want you may visit Pangboche Monastery. Overnight stay at Pangboche.

Day 16: Pangboche to Namche Bazaar: 4-5 hours

We will climb down from Pangboche to Namche Bazaar today. During the trail we may again visit to the Tengboche Monastery in the way. We take Lunch at tengboche and again continue our walk. We will experience the beautiful rhododendron forests as well. We cross the Bridge of Dudhkodhi River and follow the trail of Dudhkoshi gorge. Then after we will be crossing a small chorten to reach namche bazaar. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.

Day 17: Namche Bazaar to Lukla: 6-7 hours

We climb downhill from Namche Bazaar to reach Lukla. There is Suspension bridge of Dudhkoshi River in the way which we have to cross to reach easy and natural trail. When we arrive at Lukla then we will take rest and have small celebration at evening. Overnight stay at Lukla.

Day 18: Fly to Kathmandu

We are returning back to Kathmandu today early in the morning. It is short flight, so after reaching Kathmandu, you can have rest whole day long in the Hotel. If you want then in the evening time you can roam around the beautiful Thamel area. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

Day 19: Final departure

Today is the last day of your trip to Nepal. You will be dropped off to the Tribhuwan International Airport for your flight towards your home.

Accommodations:

If you want to know about the accommodations then you don’t have to worry about it. We will be staying in 3 star hotel in Kathmandu, fine hotel in Pokhara and standard teahouses during the trekking and tents while climbing. Most of the teahouses accommodations have shared toilet facilities and for tent you will be provided 4-season sleeping bag and foam mattress. During the climbing sections the toilet facilities will be provided according the necessary natural preservations. During the upper elevation trek you have to share the room with twins, single room can be provided if you pay extra charges. But in some cases you may not find single rooms as well.

Meals:

We can enjoy mainly continental meals during the trip mainly Nepali, Indian and Chinese. Breakfast, Lunch and dinner are available throughout the trip. We take our breakfast in the same place where we stay the night. We will take Lunch during the trek or en route whereas the dinner, we will take it where we stay overnight. You will be provided fresh and hygienic food during the trek.

Team Composition:

Trekking: While trekking you will be provided experienced and fully trained English speaking and trekking guide. Every 4 members are enabled to 1 assistant guide and also 1 porter for every 2 members to carry baggage.

Climbing: A licensed, English speaking and veteran climbing guide will be with you. Similarly. Assistant guide will be there to assist you for group size of 2-4 peoples: there will be 1 main guide and 1 assistant guide. Guide and assistant guide will be provided according to the group size of the people. If there is the of 5-8 peoples there will be 1 main guide and 2 assistant guides. With the group size of 9-12 then there will be 1 main guide and 3 assistant guides. Other crew members will be included as cook and other necessary Sherpa staff who will ensure that safety of you climbing to the peak.

Leader (s) and staff managements:

To make the trek and climbing successful, the most important thing is leaders must be skillful, experienced, courteous, loyal and helpful. Expert and professional leaders will be there for you to lead you to your destination. All Icebreak Adventure’s leaders are carefully nominated based on their experience, leadership skills and personal aptitude. Porter Care:

Porter care is one of the major factor that we have to concern during the trek. During the trek we have to interact with porters as well. We are firmly committed to porter rights. So we know their rights and according to that we will treat them, respect them and they will be well paid as well. We will provide proper food, wearing stuffs like boots and clothing, and give same level of respect with one another. They also get chance to learn many thing from us. If they get sick then they will be treated as the same way that we treat to the trekkers.

Responsible Tourism Practice

Himalayan regions of Nepal is the major factor that attracts the tourist in our country. So, tourism industry has a responsibility to protect and preserve it. Though the Himalayan region are astonishing and beautiful but it can be easily destroyed. Therefore you will be advised by the leaders of Icebreak adventure how to minimize the negative impact on the environment. They will suggest you what should be done and what shan’t be. Travel Insurance:

Travel insurance is highly recommended to the visitors who want to join the Icebreak adventure to enjoy the trekking and climbing. Any medical issue and accident can be occur during the trip so you are requested to choose very good policy and have insurance of adventure travel. While choosing the best policy make sure that your insurance covers all the the activities like (air ambulance, helicopter rescue) during the trip.

Physical Condition and Experience Requirements:

Though Lobuche East peak is not that much difficult but you have to be 100 % fit before you begin your trip to this peak. You should have some rock or mountain climbing experience to summit this peak although any fit person can climb this peak but experience can be much more beneficial for you. You have to walk hours and hours during ascend to the peak that’s why reasonable physical fitness is necessary. For more health concern you can check up your health before the taking the trip such as heart, lung, blood pressure etc.

Pre-Trip Meeting:

We will have pre-trip meeting as a trip preparation day on the 2nd day of your arrival in Kathmandu. In this meeting you will be introduced to your trek leaders, which gives you ample opportunity to questions to your leader about the trip.
